I bought your book after seeing you on KING5 last week. I've managed to get google analytics working and done some key word work. How long should it be before I see a better google placement?

Answer: I've seen changes take effect within hours of making them. Other times it can take days or even weeks. The way to find out when Google last indexed your site is to go to www.websitegrader.com, enter your website URL and give it a minute to report back. About half way down the page it says "Last Google Crawl Date". That is the last time it picked up your changes. At least, you'll know when it happens. The more often you make additions to your website, the more frequently Google (and other search engines) will come back and look for new changes. Wr/t Google Analytics, be sure to click "Traffic Sources" to see what actual words folks used to find your site. That's another useful piece of info! Good luck and thanks for your great question! Hi Mr. Scanlan, I just asked a question and clicked Preview below and it disappeared so sorry if this a duplicate.

I am wondering if an inbound link pointing to my website only influences the page it is pointing to or does it influence the whole website? I am asking this because I have noticed that different page within the same website can have differing Google page ranks. Thanks. Nicholas lohr

_Good morning, Nicholas! Inbound links affect both the page they link to and the overall website. Remember, though, that Google PageRank has diminished in importance in the last year of so. You might take a look at websitegrader.com, whose score is probably more useful that Google PageRank, and an actionable list of things you can adjust on your website. Best wishes! Liam _
